I was looking around on Wikipedia and found that on Feb 16, 2007 ALW announced that he is writing a sequel for POTO on stage.. Question
Does anyone know more about this? Like, what it's about, etc.

AH,no I didn't know about that! Oh my goodness that's great!! Ah,but what's not great...it probably won't tour for awhile after it comes out and there's no chance in hades I'll be able to see it on Broadway or in London.Total suctatude.But it's still great!

Yes, I heard about it and I think he'd be an idiot to even try. Sequels are hardly ever good and our expectations of it would be too high so it wouldn't even compare to the original!
Someone on another forum suggested he might have only said it to test the fans reactions to it- I really hope they're right!

And it would be botchy- nothing could live up to the original!!!

Also, I really don't see how the story could be carried on...unless Christine realised she made the wrong decision and goes back to Erik (after finding him again!).

Yes, there would be too many questions the phans don't want answered that ALW may answer... Plus, he would ruin the legend of the original novel, where Erik dies.

I just cant imagine another Fantome de l'Opera. Some people say im not a true fan for not seeing the broadway show for it but, I never had the time to see it. So I basing my ideas on the movie with Emmy and Gerard. That aint ever getting a sequel.

It was suggested on another forum that he may close the West End or Broadway production so as not to have the original being more successful than the sequel. Which is what would happen if this Phantom of Manhattan thing really is going ahead. Manhattan is one of the most beautiful places in the world IMO, but I cannot see the Phantom there.
Anyway, if he closed the original I'd be sure he was losing his mind. I don't know about broadway but London seems to be still selling out most nights and it'l be 21 this October!
