What's your favorite music outside of all the Broadway stuff?

When I'm not listening to musicals-made-into-movies-soundtracks, I generally listen to rock. All forms of it...emo, heavy metal, alternative, pop-rock, and especially classic oldies from th 60's to the 80's.

The top three bands I love most are Guns n Roses, Bon Jovi, and Cher. In that order. I also love Josh Groban a lot, but God...with a voice like his he might as well be Broadway.Laughing

Ok, well when I'm trying to be cool, I say I just listen to rock, but really, I love any type of music, classical, the cheesiest pop, rock.
I only regularly listen to soundtracks and cast recordings though.

I'll list some people I like (although I suppose a lot will be British and I'll be the only one who knows them)..

S Club 7
The Beatles
Green Day
James Blunt
Oasis
Katy Rose
Evanescence
White Stripes
Kaiser Chiefs
Dream Theater
Stereophonics
Guns n Roses
Arctic Monkeys
Razorlight
And of course, my first obsession, Spice Girls!

When I have the radio on, it usually one a country station.
Country is alot better then all the mass-produced McMusic they try to sell to people these days. I don't really have a favorite country artist, but I do love the older stuff. Country from the 70's and 80's...now that is great stuff.
When I slip in a CD, chances are I'm going to be hearing the most beautiful music ever recorded, played on the piano by the most beautiful man. Jim Brickman is a god. His music makes me shiver.
I always try to take the opportunity to share about him. I just love him so much, and I want the rest of the world to love him too.
Check him out...http://www.jimbrickman.com
He's got the most amazing eyes.

I also love Josh Groban and Natalie McMaster. I assume you all know Josh, but Natalie is an artist from Canada, of Scottish desent. She plays a wicked fiddle. Her music is very celtic sounding, I guess that's why I like it so much.

I listen to a little country, too. I never really got into the classics, though, mostly the ones that hover between country and rock. Toby Kieth, Shania Twain, Garth Brooks. How could I forget Charlie Daniels.

I do love artists with a celtic sound. Do you ever listen to Celtic Woman? I currently only have their DVD "A New Journey: Live at Slane Castle", but I'm looking into a CD.
