The Phantom of the Opera is a musical based on the novel by French writer Gaston Leroux in early 19s. His story initially was poorly sold and even went out of print but since English composer Andrew Lloyd Webber produced its musical version it became a huge success and now Phantom of the Opera is the most profitable entertainment enterprises of all time and also the longest running musical show in the history of Broadway. The Phantom of the Opera is an emotional love story and its musical was first presented at Her Majesty’s Theatre on 9 October 1986 and it is also the most financially successful musical production that has even surpassed the highest world grossing from the movie Titanic.

The Phantom of the Opera has many distinct records on its credit; the original cast album of Phantom of The Opera was the first cast album in British musical history that topped the music charts at number one and remains the biggest selling cast album of all time. The Phantom of the Opera is a musical performs in 149 cities of more than 25 countries worldwide, including UK, US, New Zealand, Japan, Austria, Canada, Sweden, Germany, Brazil, Mexico, Australia, Holland, Switzerland, Belgium, Korea, Denmark, Spain and Russia. The new song ‘Learn to Be Lonely’, for the movie version of The Phantom of the Opera was also nominated for Best Original Song at the 2005 Oscars.

The Phantom of the Opera is known for its cast, crew, stage appearances and direct involvement of ever member in each performance. Each The Phantom of the Opera show has 230 costumes, 14 dressers, 120 automated cues, 22 scene changes, 281 candles and uses 250 kg of dry ice and 10 fog and smoke machines and its takes the production house to use 27 articulated lorries to transfer the set between theatres.

The Phantom of the Opera in collaboration with LIVE Organ Accompaniment show the Lon Chaney’s class silent field on Sunday, October 31, at Lafayette Avenue Presbyterian Church.

The Pfeiffer Hall will also show the live act performed by the North Central College students through Nov 4-7.
