Especially like the ending with Erik playing the pipe organ and the catastrophic destruction of the lair. The book was respected, while still being an original take in some areas.

im for one thing this is a desicrase to the book/play the phantom of the opera is meant to be a play alive movie and a book not a cartoon you may not agree wtih me but not meant to be a cartton it makes me mad:vile:

true it did follow the book i watched it and it wasn't thayt bad i still disssaprove of it being a cartoon thoe but they did not have meg or any other main charecters in there but it wa still ok also my freiend found out there is a vegitale phantom of the opera ewwwwwww that is horibble thats thats even a more discrase to the phantom of the opera

I've had the strangest longing to watch it lately. Maybe because of my Leroux kick.

Another thing I didn't like about the movie was that they rushed the word play a lot. Leroux's writing is very beautiful I thought and the lines in the movie seemed so rushed and jumbled.

Smile Did you see the cute one where he dresses up in drag? It is from...um, I think Brazil. I can dig up a linky if anybody wants one.

How many other people are still wondering why Erik kills a cat in this animated version? I still can't see how that moves the story line along, His violence levels should have went up after that, not down. Next thing you know he is just sending notes. Don't get me wrong, I love this film, excellent Erik art. But I still frown on killing a cat for no good plot reason. Also, are Opera people deaf? Somebody had to hear that poor cat hit the floor.

It was actually quite amusing. My friend and I were watching the film on the computer and when the cat came on screen I'm like "Look, it's Ayesha." (my frined is a mild phan and my bff so she new what I was talking about). Then when it dropped dead, we gaped at the screen horror stricken and both screamed, "AYESHA!"

It was kinda funny

I liked the cartoon. Faithful to book, even though the animation itself wasn't so great... And I still can't get over Raoul's Masquerade costume.

yeah, I saw the cartoon on YouTube and I liked it, exept for the fact Raoul, Christine, and the Persian sounded weird, and Erik was green! but other than that, it was good!
