Okay this is the thing; If you could change one thing in any POTO book, stage adaptation, or movie, what would it be.

Example:

~~~The name of the scene~~~
~~~What you would change about it~~~
~~~Why you would change it~~~

I think its a good way to express ideas among each other.

Scene Name: "Wandering Child"
Alteration: Take out the entire sword fight, and fill in the fire-ball-shooting and Notes II/Rehearsal scene
Reason: That is the way it should be. A super masculine sword fight scene is not necessary Rolling Eyes

Alteration: Remove the sexual caressing and replace it with the gentle rocking, lullabye-like movements of the musical
Reason: It looks better if the scene is less sexual

Alteration: Get rid of that flouncey, poofy ballroom gown that sparkles like a star and replace it with the normal Hannibal gown!
Reason: Again, to be faithful to the musical on stage! What the hell is that dress? It is supposed to be the Elisa from Hannibal gown. They added it for now reason...

Change: More action
Reason: It really does need more action. In the 2004 movie. Thats the only one I seen so. I will try to see the BW one if I can.

Plus, Gerard should have the canonical Red Death costume. His is so ugly and plain Rolling Eyes
The dance routine and costume colors should match the stage show, as well.

Ya I know what you mean but I guess they wanted something different. Maybe they just wanted to make it unique but yes it didnt have much taste in it.

Chapter of book: Apollo's lyre.
Change: Just a couple of line on how Erik was feeling etc.
Reason: He is basically just watching his true love kiss a jerk (debateable) and not doing anything about it. I don't mind Raoul, don't get me wrong but there was something very fishy going on and he didn't even think it was funny that Erik was letting him date Christine. o_O. Punjab Get REVENGE Erik!!!

Alteration: Remove those shadow dancers and make it less sexually charged- Make it like the musical
Reason: Those dancers are freaky and pointless, and the film's version of PONR is way too over-the-top in terms of sexuality

Why?: It will follow the original book and will be what I think would be more cooler.

Also like I said all of my Scenes are from the 2004 movie.

But, in the musical, it falls at an angle as well.
true, in real life, the pulleys and counter weights would be positioned in such a way that it would fall directly down [easier to raise and lower for maintanence]. However, it falls that way for asthetic reasons

Alteration: Leave out the understudy bit for Carlotta or invent new lines.
Reason: There is no way she could not have an understudy in the film or musical! It is opening night! She would have to have some backing!

Reason: Raoul was already introduced, so, why would you worry about the ballet and chorus knowing? Unless they are bankrupt and can not afford 20,000 francs?

They have recordings of a lot of the performances, especially JOJ that I know of.
They should release them to the public
