'So do you end your days with me or do you send him to his grave'. I was discussing this with a friend the other day and sudden thought, bad wording? Doesn't that primarily mean the same thing? If Christine says she loves Raoul, Erik will kill her, and then she'll be free, right? Which is both ending her days with the Phantom, and killing Raoul. Am I missing something here?


Also, is this the right section to post this in? I wasn't sure.

Me and my friends used to ALWAYS argue about ALW's choice of words in DOM.
"SO do you end your days with me, or do you send him to his grave" would mean, as MarieNoire said, that the Phantom will kill Raoul and then let Christine go.

My favorite quote from this song is "His life is now the prize, which you must earn." It's so poignant!

Sorry for the double post in advance.

I decided to ask my other questions here since I would probably make more threads than is sane and unannoying.

Two quick questions,
1. What is the name of the song Christine and Raoul are singing before Don Juan Triumphant?
2. Destler? As Erik's surname does this have any canon backing? I've seen this in 2 or 3 fan fictions now and it's weird for a name to repeat itself, so I was just wondering.

1) In the musical, it is Notes II/Twisted Every Way. In the film, it's just Twisted Every Way.

2) Destler is the last name given to Erik in the Robert Englund film version. It's a British name. Whereas, in Phantom of Manhattan, his last name is Mulheim, which is Swedish, and makes a link between himself and Christine

I think people use Destler more because 1. A lot of phans don't like POM and 2. Destler is easier to remember.
