Favorite Phantom Actor {Stage}

Naturally, I chose Gary Mauer, because he was my first Phantom I remember, and I love the power in his MOTN.

I chose Earl of course! He was my first stage Phantom which is one of the main reasons I'm so fond of him. JOJ is a very close second though, and he is probably vocally stronger than Earl but I love Earl's interpretation of the character, hes so nervous and one of the most insane Phantoms I've ever seen. I'd love to see JOJ live as the Phantom!

I have a video of him. He's great. He sounds insane when he screams. Like, in the beginning of Down Once More, rather than just cry out "Why?" he SCREAMS it. "WHYYYYYYY???" It's amazing! And when he's telling Raoul and Christine to go, he just does it so sadly:
"Go noooow and leaaaaaaaaaaaavvve meeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!" You have to hear him! It's terrific!

Colm Wilkinson is great too I think! His voice is so unique.

I know a lot of people don't like his Phantom though. I have a large Toronto poster on my wall of Colm as the Phantom!

I don't mind him. I liked him in the Canadian Highlight CD.

I EARL
He was my first phantom and he is perfect for the part of Erik. But I also like Hugh Panaro, Gary Mauer, Michale Crawford and Anthony Warlow

my favirite would be michal crawford because one he was the original phantom also he has a strong voice witch the phantom needs i wish i could have seen him on stage but i have the original cast recording and when he sings you can realy get the mood of the song by the way he exspresses the words you can easliy tell when he is sad angry threating and enchanting so michal crawford made the best one in my oppinon

I chose Michael Crawford because even though I've never seen him on stage, I have the Original Cast Recording CD, and he sounds pretty good. Plus, he was the original phantom!

I have alot of favorite Phantoms but out of all of them, 4 top the bill.
MICHAEL CRAWFORD: There is no Phantom like the Original, Tis' true. Let's face it ladies, all the phantoms in some way have based their MOTN on Crawford's original performance. He simply created the character and I cannot begin to tell you how his performance kicks the asses out of all the others. VIVA LA CRAWFORD! We love you MICHAEL! You can see that I have a lot of love for MC, He is brilliant!

JOHN CUDIA: His voice is just so amazing and wonderful. He was my first stage phantom and I was completely enthralled by his portrayal. He makes the song seem so sad yet so wondrously beautiful at the same time. His version always brings tears to my eyes.

HOWARD MCGILLIN: His rendition of MOTN is impeccable. He sings with such passion and feeling that no matter what, you are always moved by his dazzling performance. When he begins the first notes you become immediately enthralled and you cannot take your eyes off him! He is so smexy!
I'm just so sad that he left the Broadway production. I'm gonna miss him.

JOHN OWEN JONES: He puts so much passion into what he sings, it's amazing really. He is also the only Phantom that I have seen who actually catches Christine as she falls besides MC. His voice is gorgeous and alluring, the perfect phantom voice in my own humble opinion. His rendition is flowy and graceful, much like MCs without it being to much like his. His acting is wonderful and as of right now I beleive that his is my favorite version1 : ) Plus his 'Be' and 'Soar' are so beautiful.
