My parents purchased Argento's Phantom of the Opera film about three days ago, but I was unable to begin it until last night; now I wish I hadn't.
My parents were aware that it has 'adult material' because it was both unrated and my mother had to show an ID in order to leave the store with it. As soon as it began, I knew something was up; the Phantom is not deformed, he only lived with sewer rats. Also, he has a fetish with shoving them in his trousers and arousing himself...
In one scene, he cuts these workers in half, and the gore is so realistic it scares me. The nudity is very graphic, along with the sex scenes.
Some examples are:
-Raoul and his brother discuss the relationship with Christine. Raoul's brother, trying to 'cheer Raoul's jaded spirits' takes him to a burlesque cabarets where men and women alike freely walk around in the nude. There are fat men, women, and mid-sized to sexy people. However, it's rather gross.
Raoul is laying there smoking a bong when a girl he thinks is Christine begins to... arouse him. Enraged by the fake, he bashes the place apart and is confronted by nude personel. The brothers then leave (but that scene shows many unneeded parts.... and by parts I mean....parts!)
-In another scene, the undeformed Phantom and Christine have sweet, red hot sex. He mounts her and....you get the point. It's so disgusting (and weird that it shows Christine, but none of Raoul or the Phantom). That scene lasts for quite a long time.
-There are other nude scenes, but most are brief
All in all, the movie is okay; good acting (save poor lip syncing and horrible singing); good novel loyalty. But, unless you want to see a porno/gore-fest film, I suggest you avaoid this one.
