Did You See???

In this thread you may put things that you noticed in the film that were wrong like for instance in the beggining of the film when Christine is heading for the mirror she has no make-up on (eye-shadow) but during the song Phantom Of the Opera she has make-up on :christine1:

I think that is symbolism; she feels sexier when she is going down there and such. Like the golden candle holders are there when she descends, yet, when Meg goes down a little ways, they are gone.

it's her imagination and imagry.

another one is that during Why so Silent when he starts walking down he doesnt have Don Juan Triumphant then he randomly pulls it out

Oh, and if you notice, Raoul's noose during DOM is not on tight at all...It's quite loose and he could slip out...
That's during the musical, btw.

-At the end when Meg steps out of the water, her pants are wet. However, when she enters the bedroom and finds the Phantom's mask, her pants are perfectly dry.
-After Think of Me, when Christine is in the chapel, it shows her light a match on a candle, then use the lit match to light the candle next to it. In the following shot, the camera shows all of the candles on that stand-only one is lit
-As Christine and Raoul race up the stairs of the Opera House, her hair is loose. By the time they come out onto the rooftop, it's partially pulled back in an elaborate fashion. She's never off screen long enough to have done that. This is after the 'Il Muto' accident
-When Christine takes off the Phantom's mask during Don Juan, the appearance of his face suddenly gets drastically CG enhanced.
-Right after Joseph Buquet is killed, Raoul runs and finds Christine. When she says, "Raoul, we're not safe here.", her lips do not move; her mouth is merely agape.
-As the grating descends on Raoul, in two shots, large bubbles are flowing downwards. It's obvious, the film was reversed.
-During the beginning of the movie the Phantom has the white mask on half his face. The holes for the eyes are big enough for us to see that the Phantom's right eye is normal just like the left eye. But during the final scene when the mask is off ("The Point of No Return") and also during the kiss, when there is a close-up, we can see that the lower right eyelid is pulled down because of the severe deformity, not at all like the left eye, and which he cannot conceal with makeup.
- In the scene where Christine and Raoul are riding the horse out of the graveyard, it is obvious that Emmy Rossum has been replaced by a stunt double.
-In the last scene, Christine pulls the cover off one mirror. The coverings stay like this till the Phantom leaves, when both mirrors are uncovered.

Hmmm... interesting. I noticed a few things about the film. Most films make mistakes like that.

I love the mistake in the end of PONR, when the Phantom's mask is taken off and his face is horribly messed up, and then, when showed after, it is only a bit distorted...
The deformity sucked in general

It really did. There was barely anything wrong with him!

It was so stupid.. ALW lets a lot of phans down

And no doubt he'll do it again......

Well, think about this for a moment, you two... Would you walk around like that? Think about how you would feel if YOU looked like that,and maybe the deformity won't seem to 'terrible' to you. Yes, it wasn't anything like I pictured the deformity, book-wise, but it was still a deformity, nonetheless.

I don't know about you, but my respect for the '04 deformity went up when I thought about how I would feel if I had it.


Back on-topic:

What about when she lost her stockings? She had then on when the Phantom laid her in the swan bed, but not when she woke up?

-I know, any deformity would be dreadful, and would make me looked down upon. But, it should be faithful to the musical-

Yes, she was placed on the bed with them, and woke up without them. Perhaps there are a few hours of 'missing footage'...?

I'm not really sure if this is strange but when Buquet was describing the phantom to the girls did you notice that he was describing the Gaston Leroux phantom?

Yes, I have realized that. It's rather ignorant. I have no clue why they'd leave it in, other than the idea that since Erik is a 'ghost', he has different personages throughout the opera house. That is to say, different people believe they see different things.

haha, i saw the dummies!!! When she is singing think of me, and they pan out to the audience at about scene 18:18, on the right hand side if you pause it, u can clearly see a few dummies. One is so obvious, that she's only wearing a shirt, and you can tell there is no skirt or nothing!! how funny!!!!!

Not sure if this is being mentioned:

Right before AOM, we see Meg go into the chapel to find Christine, correct? Then it flashes to the managers flirting with ballet girls. If you look very closely during that scene, you can see Meg amoung a crowd of people behind them...after she went into the chapel!
