Scenes That Make You Wonder

This is different from the DID YOU SEE? thread, because, whereas that thread is for discussing bloopers and/or scenes that you find strange, this is a thread for the discussion of scenes of the ALW film that really make you think: what in the world was going on?
First of all, for example:
-During MotN, after Christine falls unconscious, and is presumably asleep for a while, the Phantom places her in bed. She awakes, stockings removed. What went on?
-Why does Mme. Giry seem to be Christine's pimp? She is always around when the Phantom is approaching, and never seems to interfere with the characters as they get into danger, though she eagerly watches.
-How do all of the candles in the entire opera house extinguish at the same time, with seemingly no human intervention? Does the Phantom have little candle faeries, or does he have a huge capacity for air in his lungs?
Discuss these and other odd theories/questions in here! Please keep the stage show and film separate, as the stage show really has no inconsistencies.

Hm... I have one. During Journey to the Cemetery you can see, that carriage is very slow and Raoul's horse is galloping. Still, Phantom and Christine had enough time to get to the cemetery, she sang a long song, later Wandering Child and Raoul wasn't there. Did he lost his way, or fell into some kind of other dimension? Hey, it's a good place for a physics essay!

What about Masquerade? When the Phantom comes down as RedDeath, Raoul disappeared, leaving Christine alone and vulnerable. He returns moments later, with a sword that he never uses (in that scene) and is buckling his belt. Perhaps he went to the toilet?

And also, during Think of Me, Raoul leaves before Christine's aria is over, but is clearly there to congratulate her on the success. Perhaps he really does have an over-active bladder, and had to leave early for a potty break

Oh, poor Raoul. Another thing that makes me wonder... Phantom's tanned skin. Does opera house have sunbeds? Speaking of Phantom; where did he learn to do things like fighting with a sword, or driving a carriage? Madame Giry said that he never left the building. Any corespondence courses?

What about during Wandering Child? The phantom must have somehow managed to open the doors and turn on the magical lights from the roof. Perhaps he invented electricity and Thomas Edison stole it from him. Erik is a genius, after all

what about after music of the night when the phantom puts christine to in his bed then stands over watching her and then then next morning she isn't wearing any stockings they said he played music all night. sure he did but it proboly was a diffrent type of music if you get my point.
also what about when raoul falls down that trap door when he is on to the phantoms lair he falls down then later the gate startsto fall on him how could raul land in the water with out hitting the gate it makes no sense

And I agree. Raoul rushes and falls down the trap door, where the grate obviously lies. However, the next moment, it is threatening to crush him from above. what in the world!

i was waching it again last night and saw that one scene during il muto ander and firmen had there hands on top of one another i might be mistaken but i tlooks like thay really are holding hands it makes you wounder are they gay for each other

And I've had that pointed out before, in various slash phan fics. Personally, I doubt it the way they act for the ballet dancers.

And what of the man mooning Carlotta? I nkow that stagehands were sterotyped to be obscenly dirty, but why do that in a public location? And just during her natural diva tantrum?

one other thing. the scene before angel of music when meg is going to the chapple 2 random people are making out i wonder what are they doing there. also how dose the phantom manage to lock the door to the dressing room. then a few secs later he is behind chrisintes miror ?

That kissing couple... I think it has to do with whole 'decadent' atmosphere that is supposed to fill the opera house. To fit nicely with those naked statues in rather indecent poses.
And the second thing... Well, Erik is magician.
